It's been a while since I filmed a wedding at The Orangery in Maidstone, but it was a very welcome return back in September when I shot Hayley and Charlie's big day. Some of the first weddings I ever filmed were at The Orangery. I loved it so much as a venue that I recommended it to my brother, who took my tip and tied the knot there way back in 2004.
Fast forward to 2023 and the stage was set for an amazing day for Hayley and Charlie. It was in the hot spell that we had in early September, it was in fact a real scorcher. The handheld fans were out in force. I was really impressed to see that the team at The Orangery have made some really nice changes since my last visit. They now have three options of where you can get married in the grounds. Hayley and Charlie had very wisely chosen The Lapa, which is an utterly charming woodland enclave by the lake, with seating for up to 150 guests.

My good friend David King was on photography duties. It's always a pleasure to work with Dave, he has to be the chirpiest photographer out there. He is a master at putting couples at ease and putting a smile on everybody's faces.
